As summer heats up

and dries out 

in the hottest days of August,

the sunflowers persist

and bloom in road ditches

and in ravines

with happy faces that just

demand attention.

When things seem most bleak,

there they are

spreading joy.

Sunflowers are my signature flower

and if you know me,

you know that yellow is my color.

Let's create joy together

and decide

to savor the season . . .

even this season,

when your soul is parched.

Let's look for the bright spots.

*open the eyes of your heart and find beauty and sacredness in every day, ordinary life

*Guided cut-and-paste journaling with plenty of statements "I have decided" affirmations from  the Soul Road Curriculum by Melody Ross.
*Learn to create clay floral molds and how to make a relief print from the mold. Once you learn this process, possibilities are endless!
