There are places and seasons in life that require intentional searching

to discover beautiful things. Sometimes

when a person must hunt,

the treasure is

all the more beautifully meaningful because of the hunt.

Sometimes

the miracle is that

the sacred and beautiful have been right in our midst the entire time...

 This is an all day art & faith retreat

that will take you outside

this late summer day

to explore the beautiful things

in my humble space on the prairie.

Each person will

seek out

a special keepsake box

from home,

perhaps a flea market, yard sale, junk fair, or antique shop,

to fill with

beautiful things

from your

life's humble place.

We will alter the toolbox into a treasure chest through mixed media techniques and some special castings of wildflowers.

In addition, we will create and begin to fill a small field journal for photos from the day,

as well as make special pockets to insert into the journal for pressing flowers and grasses.
