Lesson Two

One day she dared to acknowledge what calls to her heart.

"As long as we know what it's about,

then we can have the couarge

to go wherever we are asked to go,

even if we fear

that the road may take us through danger and pain.

~ Madeline L'Engle, Walking On Water

Today, we are going to allow ourselves to think about how we really want our life to be.

I'm going to start with a story about Sydney sitting at the edge of the pool. What she really wanted to do was get out of the heat and play and laugh and splash and swim with other kids.  What was holding her back? Getting her face wet.  Well, one day she decided she would survive a wet face and it would be worth it. We celebrated that wet face like she had won a race across the length of the pool!  Celebrate when you face fear and jump in.

What is the figurative swimming pool you are waiting to jump into?  What will you miss out on if you don't jump in?

What is keeping you on the side of the pool?

Today we are going to dive in to these questions and more.  Put on your bathing suit.  Oh, yes, that's a scary thought to me too.  But we can do this.  One day she didn't care what anybody thought about how she looked in her swimsuit.  More importantly, one day she decided to accept her own body so that she could enjoy the water.
