Anxiety for Peace of Mind: How To Make The Trade

In this video, I take you on a zig-zagging journey across the Bible

cross-referencing verses of the same themes.

Below is a list of the references for your own study.

You may want to look them up in advance of watching and see what the Lord enlightens upon your heart.

You may want to use them in your creative projects throughout class.

Here's the list:

Philippians 4:6-7

Psalm 55:22

Matthew 6:25-26

1 Peter 5:7

1 Thessalonians 5:17-18

Isaiah 26:3 and 57:19

Hebrews 13:15

Three keys I learned:

(1)

Instead of worry, pray, by telling God all about it.

Pour it out. Cast it or throw it to Him.

(2)

Give thanks.

Have gratitude.

(3)

Receive the exchange:

peace of mind

that doesn't make sense,

but even so,

guards your heart & mind.

Bird Stencil & Prayer

Click the button above to print the stencil and prayer for this project.

I recommend using a utility knife to cut out the inside of the stencil.  Then trace it on to card stock or a thin cardboard (like a cereal box). Use the utility knife to again cut out the bird shape.  Use molding paste, crackle paste or paint with your stencil.

It's up to you!

Exchange

Prayer Art

Dear Jesus,

Here I am.

Here's my heaviness

You accept it as a trade in.

As an exchange.

You give back fullness

of joy and beauty

and a heart

filled with praise...

You take the burdens

of shame, of grief,

of brokenheartedness,

of messed up lives,

of regrets,

and give back

goodness, honor, everlasting joy,

freedom,

rebuilding,

replanting,

restoration.

What a miracle.

No economy on earth

is like Yours.

You take our worst

and give back Your best.

It's all held in a frame of my mind

this giving and receiving.

And it makes a difference.

Because what I believe

is how I live.

Today, I choose to believe

Your story.

Amen.

A song for you:

Greater by Mercy Me

I know of no other song that better expresses the concept of trading with God .  .  . our worst for His best.
